1. Who we are and what this policy covers
The Academic Edge operates this website and provides academic-support services under that public brand name. This policy explains how information is handled when you visit the website or submit an enquiry through it.
You can contact us at info@theacademicedge.co or by telephone or WhatsApp at +234 911 022 8167.
2. Information you submit directly
The contact form may collect the information you choose to provide, including:
- Your name.
- Your preferred contact method and either an email address or telephone number.
- Your selected country and dial code where telephone contact is used.
- Your academic level and requested service.
- Your subject, assignment or project topic.
- Word-count information, project details and deadline.
- Documents you upload, together with metadata such as filename, file type and file size.
A hidden anti-spam field is also included in the form. It is intended to identify automated submissions, not to collect information from genuine users.
3. Technical and security information
When the website is used, Vercel and the application may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the service. This may include IP address, browser or device information, request timestamps, requested routes, request headers, performance measurements, bot-detection or abuse-prevention signals and server logs.
Rejected or failed requests may be logged with limited diagnostic reasons or error categories. The application is designed not to place uploaded file contents or complete enquiry details in routine security logs.
4. Why we use information
We may use information where reasonably necessary to:
- Respond to enquiries and assess the requested service.
- Communicate about scope, deadlines, quotations and delivery requirements.
- Review instructions and uploaded documents.
- Deliver contact submissions and attachments to our business inbox.
- Prevent spam, fraud, automated abuse and other misuse.
- Maintain website security and diagnose technical failures.
- Meet applicable legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims where necessary.
The current website does not use contact-form information for automated advertising profiles or newsletter marketing.
5. Grounds for processing
Depending on the circumstances and the law that applies, processing may be necessary to take steps you request before entering a service agreement, to perform an agreed service, or for legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and protecting the website. Processing may also be required to meet legal obligations or may rely on consent where consent is specifically requested.
These explanations are general information about our practices and are not legal advice.
6. Uploaded files and retention
Selected files upload directly from your browser to a private Vercel Blob store. Ordinary public Blob URLs are not intended to provide access. The application verifies each upload and creates a temporary signed read link so Resend can retrieve the attachment for the contact email.
Temporary contact-upload Blobs are scheduled for automatic deletion after 24 hours. The application may also attempt immediate server-side deletion when an upload sequence or final contact submission fails. These deletion periods apply to the temporary Blob store only.
Email copies and attachments delivered to the business inbox may remain for longer where reasonably needed to handle an enquiry, provide an agreed service, maintain appropriate records, resolve a dispute or satisfy legal obligations. We do not promise that every provider backup or delivered email copy will be deleted within 24 hours.
The current application does not create or maintain a permanent customer-account database.
7. Service providers and international processing
We use Vercel for website hosting, serverless functions, private Blob storage, BotID abuse protection and Speed Insights performance measurement. We use Resend to deliver transactional contact emails and their verified attachments.
Website fonts are optimised during the application build and served with the website. The browser is not intentionally directed to Google Fonts solely to retrieve the website typography. The pages also request country-flag images from FlagCDN, which may receive ordinary network information, such as an IP address and browser request headers, when those images are loaded.
These providers operate infrastructure in multiple countries and handle information under their own technical, organisational and contractual arrangements. Information may therefore be processed outside the country where you are located.
8. When information may be shared
Information may be shared with infrastructure and email providers where needed to operate the contact workflow. It may also be disclosed to professional advisers, authorities where legally required, or a successor in connection with a legitimate business transfer.
We do not sell personal information.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may be entitled to ask for information about processing, access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent where consent is the basis, or a portable copy where applicable. You may also be entitled to complain to the relevant data-protection authority.
Requests can be sent to info@theacademicedge.co. We may request reasonable information to verify your identity and protect information from unauthorised disclosure.
10. Sensitive and third-party information
Please do not upload unnecessary sensitive personal information. Identity documents, medical records, passwords, financial credentials and confidential third-party datasets should not be submitted unless they are strictly necessary and their use has been agreed in advance.
If you submit information about another person, you should have appropriate authority or permission to do so.
11. Children
This website is not intended for children who cannot legally provide their own information or consent under the law that applies to them. A parent, guardian or other authorised adult should contact us where required.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the website, including private temporary storage, short-lived signed links, server-side validation and automated-abuse protection. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to prevent every security incident.
13. Updates and contact
We may update this policy as the website, providers or legal requirements change. Material revisions will be shown by updating the date at the top of this page.
