This notice explains the cookies and similar browser or request technologies used by The Academic Edge website. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
2. Our current use of cookies
The current application code does not set advertising cookies, behavioural-advertising cookies or marketing cookies. It also does not use browser local storage or session storage.
We have not added a consent banner because the repository audit found no active advertising tracker or other application-controlled non-essential cookie requiring a preference prompt. Hosting, security and external-resource providers may still process technical identifiers, browser signals or request information as described below.
3. Hosting and essential request technologies
Vercel hosts the website and runs its serverless routes and private file-storage workflow. Like other hosting platforms, it processes network requests and may use technical mechanisms needed to deliver, secure and operate the service.
Vercel BotID Basic protects the contact and upload endpoints through an invisible automated-abuse check. It uses client and network signals and attaches verification information to protected requests so the server can reject likely automated submissions. It does not present a visible CAPTCHA.
The contact form also includes a hidden honeypot field to suppress automated spam. These protections are used for security and abuse prevention rather than advertising.
4. Performance measurement
Vercel Speed Insights is active on the site. Its browser script reports website-performance measurements, including Core Web Vitals and related information about how pages load and respond. This helps identify performance problems and improve the site.
Vercel Web Analytics is not currently installed in this project. The website also does not currently include Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or an advertising analytics platform.
5. External resources and destinations
Website fonts are optimised during the application build and served with the website. The browser is not intentionally directed to Google Fonts solely to retrieve the website typography. The website also requests country-flag images from FlagCDN. When your browser requests those images, FlagCDN receives ordinary network request information such as an IP address and browser headers.
Links to WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and X take you to third-party websites or applications. Those services operate under their own privacy and cookie policies. Simply displaying an outbound link does not embed their social widgets on this website.
6. Your browser controls
Most browsers allow you to inspect, block or delete cookies and site data. Blocking technologies that are necessary for hosting or security may affect whether protected forms work correctly.
